Description
The Data Analyst will perform business analysis including but not limited to Descriptive Analysis and Predictive Analysis to assist decision making for the business. This position will apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations to the organization. This position involves close interaction with the Finance team, Sales Team, Operation Team, etc. and will report to the Manager, Data Analytics.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Hands-on report writing with Power BI.
- Supporting data transformations and data analysis in SQL and/or Oracle databases.
- Soliciting report requirements from business process owners and creating FRDs (Functional Report Documents).
- Testing reports for accuracy.
- Documentation of reports and/or processes.
- Data collection, cleaning, and processing.
- Create weekly/monthly sales performance reports and provide insights/recommendations for improvement.
- Track and quantify operation risks to project month/quarter end financials.
- Apply qualitative and quantitative techniques/methods utilizing statistical techniques and software to collect and interpret data to produce substantiated recommendations on sales trends, sales projection, budgets, etc.
- Collects and analyzes sales and operations information to track the organization's progress against financial goals.
- Develop and evaluate forecasting models that consider historical sales trends, new product introductions, and changing market trends.
- Convert complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics or related field.
Required Experience And Skills
- At least 2 years’ experience in an analytical role (e.g., Analytics, Financial Planning & Analysis, Economics, Market Research) or equivalent educational experience.
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with others and meet deadlines and goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Understanding of database and/or data warehousing concepts.
- Self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, and self-starter.
- Forecasting in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query development, data modeling, building visuals in Power BI Desktop (or similar business intelligence software).
- Basic knowledge in SQL with a working understanding of databases, ETL process, Data Modeling on unstructured or undefined data sets across multiple business functions using large data processing platforms.
- Experience translating project requirements into data solutions.
- Understanding of statistics and statistical methodologies for forecasting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
