Are you a curious and technical leader with a passion for building robust, high-impact platforms from the ground up? If you thrive on designing and developing highly available, automated systems that drive real business value, this opportunity offers a challenge truly worthy of your skills and ambition.
We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Lead Developer to lead and build a strategically important Aggregation Platform for Games. This platform is a central component of Veikkaus’ technology stack, seamlessly connecting game engines, platforms, and backends to deliver diverse, responsible gaming experiences at scale and enable smooth integration with partners.
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys problem-solving and thinking outside the box, thrives in uncertainty, and can lead other developers with empathy, care, and efficiency. You’ll be joining a product team at the start of its journey to build a world-class, game-changing iPaaS solution, and you’ll have the opportunity to influence fundamental technical decisions, the technology stack, the architecture, and more to bring the product to life. The work is done in close collaboration with Veikkaus leadership, business experts, developers, and stakeholders across the board.
This isn’t just about building a platform — it’s about scaling the reach to global markets and being an integral part of Veikkaus success story!
Key responsibilities
- You lead the platform’s technical development, taking ownership of its design, performance, and security in close collaboration with the architect.
- Lead technical decision-making and guide the team toward the right solutions.
- Ensure that the technical team chooses the best implementation option given the product specifications and overall context
- Lead and coach the team on best practices for building high-quality software (code reviews, XP, mob coding etc.)
- Ensure that the team's DevOps practices are modern and agile
You will thrive in this position, if you have
- Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring and inspiring software development teams
- Extensive experience in turning high-level concepts into detailed technical requirements and guiding other developers to participate effectively into planning and execution
- Extensive experience around different integration patterns and their suitability for different scenarios
- You have been part of building API-first products from scratch to successful launch/operation
- Extensive experience in building High Availability solutions
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and principles
- Extensive experience working in Java, AWS or GCP (other technologies / languages are a definite plus). The technology stack for the product is still evolving.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Considered an advantage
- Experience working on iPaaS solutions
- Experience working with frontend development (React, Angular, Typescript etc)
- Experience in different architectures e.g. microservices or serverless
- Experience working as a Scrum Master or Software Architect
- Experience working in the iGaming sector
- Proficiency in Finnish, both spoken and written
We offer
