Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced EU Project Financial Manager to oversee the financial coordination, compliance, and reporting of EU-funded projects. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the financial rules and administrative requirements of EU programmes such as Horizon Europe, Interreg, Erasmus+, LIFE, or similar. This role includes ensuring accurate budget execution, maintaining project-wide financial tracking tools, monitoring resource allocation, and preparing all required documentation in accordance with Grant Agreements, the Annotated Grant Agreement (AGA), and relevant EU guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, maintain, and regularly update master project spreadsheets, including allocations of staff, subcontractors, and other project resources.
  • Coordinate, verify, and consolidate time-sheets, ensuring full accuracy and compliance with EU programme rules.
  • Monitor and control financial resource distribution across multiple project activities and work packages.
  • Track budget execution and provide periodic financial status updates to management, project coordinators, and partners.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate bookkeeping, cost tracking, and verification of expense eligibility under EU regulations.
  • Prepare financial reports for the Project Coordinator and the European Commission, ensuring full compliance with the Annotated Grant Agreement (AGA) and other EU financial guidelines.
  • Support project leads in planning, forecasting, and adjusting personnel, subcontracting, and other cost categories.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in financial or administrative management of EU-funded projects (e.g., Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, Interreg, LIFE, CEF, etc.) is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for financial tracking, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of EU project financial rules, eligibility criteria, and administrative procedures.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply the Annotated Grant Agreement and related EU guidelines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • High proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict reporting deadlines in a fast-paced EU project environment.
