TotalEnergies is a leading international player in the energy market. Since 1964, the Exploration & Production division in the Netherlands (TEPNL) has been engaged in gas extraction in the North Sea from unmanned satellites, platforms and subsea production facilities. In parallel we prepare the depleted fields for the storage of CO2 through the ARAMIS Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) project.

TEPNL is currently looking for a Junior Network & Telecom Engineer who will support the management and maintenance of the company’s network and telecom systems, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.

Your responsibilities

After thorough training, you will be responsible for supporting the operational management and maintenance of the company’s network and telecom infrastructure across on- and offshore sites. You will be the first point of contact for our colleagues to provide guidance and coordinate with third-party service providers to troubleshoot issues and resolve service requests. You will be involved in a range of network and telecommunications projects and will take part in quality assessments to support and drive continuous improvement. This role involves going offshore on a regular basis with the goal of maintaining full availability and security across all our sites.

What exactly are you going to do?

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining LAN/WAN and wireless networks across onshore and offshore locations.
• Support troubleshooting of network incidents and service requests.
• Document network configurations, changes, and incidents in the CMDB.
• Collaborate with third-party service providers to escalate and resolve issues.
• Participate in service quality reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Assist in network and telecom projects.
• Learn and apply ITIL and project management principles in daily tasks.

The ideal junior Network & Telecom Engineer

You are self-starter that is eager to learn, and passionate about network & telecom engineering. You are a team player that is also comfortable working independently. Ideally, you have completed a hbo bachelor’s degree in system and network engineering or a bachelor’s degree in IT. You possess up to two years of relevant work experience, which may include internships. You are flexible in nature and do not mind travelling across our sites or working outside the typical business hours.

Your skills

• Hbo bachelor’s degree in network/telecom engineering, or related field.
• A maximum of 2 years work experience through for example internships.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (OSI model, IP addressing, routing, switching).
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English (Spoken and Written), Dutch and/ or French are a strong advantage.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic IT environment.
