Project – the aim you’ll have

Join a role for dynamic financial institution where your core aim is to unlock business insights from large datasets, empowering decision-makers across trading, investment, and research teams with robust analytics and data-driven projects. You will play a pivotal role in improving operational efficiency, developing scalable reporting frameworks, and enhancing performance tracking through advanced financial modeling and dashboard automation.

  • Enhance the data analytics capability of the organization.
  • Organise, manage, and democratise access to data across the organization.
  • Address challenges like data presentation mismatch, lack of data democratisation, fragmented data landscape, and ad-hoc request bottlenecks.

A Strategic Role Responsible For

  • Data organisation and architecture: Structuring and mapping data across all sources for optimal accessibility
  • Data governance: Ensuring data quality, consistency, and documentation
  • Stakeholder enablement: Understanding business needs and translating them into data solutions
  • Pre-Programmed Reporting
  • Develop and maintain standardised reports for recurring business needs
  • Create automated dashboards and visualisations
  • Establish reporting schedules and distribution mechanisms
  • Ad-Hoc Data Requests
  • Technical capability to respond to bespoke data queries quickly
  • Deep knowledge of data structures to identify relevant sources
  • Ability to translate business questions into data queries
  • Data Mapping & Integration
  • Map relationships between disparate data sources
  • Create logical data models that reflect business processes
  • Document data lineage and dependencies
  • Self-Service Enablement
  • Design and implement a queryable data architecture for users
  • Create data dictionaries and documentation
  • Over time train "super users" to extract data independently
  • Develop governance frameworks for self-service access

As a Data Analyst, you will contribute directly to both daily and strategic objectives by building and maintaining analytical dashboards, designing automated reports, and delivering actionable recommendations. Working cross-functionally, you will support trading, operations, and senior management with tailored analysis and collaborate closely on risk assessment and post-trade analytics initiatives.

Expectations – The Experience You Need

  • Database technologies: SQL, Snowflake, data warehouse design
  • BI platforms: Qlik, Power BI
  • Programming: Python (data manipulation, automation)
  • ETL processes: Data integration and transformation
  • Data modelling: Dimensional modelling, star/snowflake schemas
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Snowflake for cloud-based data warehousing, management, and analytics.
  • Proven expertise using Qlik to develop interactive dashboards and business intelligence solutions for finance or capital markets.
  • Solid background in advanced statistical analysis, financial modeling, and deploying data-driven strategies within a regulated financial environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Skills – The Edge You Have

  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI for end-to-end business intelligence, including design, automation, and support of financial reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, leveraging cutting-edge data visualization and analytics tools.
