Job Summary


The primary responsibility of this role is to partner with Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and their Functional Leadership Team to drive business results through the delivery of HR Practices and Programs.


Partnering closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and their Functional Leaders, you’ll deliver impactful HR programs and practices that enable business results, strengthen leadership capability, and support our purpose of improving access to affordable, innovative healthcare worldwide.


This highly collaborative role spans multiple countries and markets, requiring close partnership with local HR teams and Corporate Centres of Expertise (CoEs) to design, implement, and manage global HR policies and initiatives that align with both local needs and enterprise priorities.

As a key member of the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) and trusted advisor to the CHRO, you will help set annual HR goals and priorities, guide the execution of enterprise talent programs, and provide strategic counsel to senior business and HR leaders.


Your focus will include executive coaching, leadership development and mobility, organizational design and effectiveness, and executive recruitment — all aimed at enabling high-performing, future-ready teams. You’ll also champion positive employee relations and ensure the consistent application of global HR strategies, policies, and compliance programs across all regions.

Key Responsibilities


(I) Partnering with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) & Functional Leaders

  • Serve as a strategic HR leader and trusted advisor to the ELT and their Functional Leadership Teams, providing managerial and people-strategy support that enables business success.
  • Partner with leaders to design and execute workforce planning, organizational capability, and change management strategies aligned with Functional Operating Plans.
  • Lead Functional Talent and Performance Management, including the oversight of both internal and external leadership talent pipelines.
  • Anticipate business and people needs, and deliver proactive, best-practice HR solutions that drive performance and align with overall business objectives.
  • Implement HR programs originating from Global HR and Centres of Expertise (CoEs), tailoring initiatives to meet business-specific requirements across multiple geographies.
  • Drive organizational design and development initiatives in partnership with People & Performance HR teams and the Talent & Culture CoE, ensuring alignment with business transformation goals.
  • Champion change and transformation initiatives, shaping the vision and execution of Functional Employee Relations strategies while maintaining alignment with corporate values and culture.
  • Ensure consistent alignment and execution of cross-functional global programs and policies (e.g., Quality Culture, Transcend, Continuous Improvement, Winning Behaviours).
  • Collaborate with the Global Total Rewards CoE to design competitive compensation and rewards strategies that attract, motivate, and retain top leadership talent.
  • Lead the Functional Performance and Compensation process, ensuring adherence to global guidelines while promoting a high-performance culture.


(II) HR Leadership Team (HRLT) — Driving High-Impact HR

  • Actively contribute as a member of the HR Leadership Team, collaborating on enterprise HR priorities and annual operational goals.
  • Champion a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture within HR, modeling Apotex Values and Winning Behaviours across all levels.
  • Translate enterprise HR strategy into actionable, measurable initiatives that align with business needs, timelines, and priorities.
  • Build a high-impact HR team by developing and mentoring HR professionals through meaningful projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of HR programs and initiatives across Global Functions to foster consistency, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with HR Partners, People & Performance teams within the business to provide leadership, guidance, and partnership in delivering strategic people outcomes.


Job Requirements


Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA or Master’s in Human Resource Management is considered an asset.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or equivalent certification is an asset.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong ability to build trust and credibility with senior leadership teams, fostering productive relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic and self-driven thinker with strong project management skills and a proven ability to partner effectively across a globally diverse workforce.
  • A pragmatic, confident, and data-driven HR professional who collaborates closely with leaders and employees to enhance engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Skilled at leading and engaging HR professionals and Functional Leaders to drive business outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation across multiple jurisdictions and global contexts.
  • Deep knowledge of HR best practices and the ability to influence and build rapport within both the HR community and business leadership teams.
  • Fluency in French (written and conversational) is considered a strong asset.


Professional Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior, business-focused HR role supporting a global or matrixed organization; direct experience in Commercial or related business areas is a strong asset.
  • Proven success working effectively in a matrix environment, balancing and aligning multiple stakeholder priorities across country, regional, global, business, and HR functions.
  • Experience supporting large, global leadership teams, ensuring consistent and effective delivery of HR operations across regions.
  • Demonstrated track record in talent management, change management, and organizational transformation, with experience implementing corporate values, ethics programs, and global HR initiatives.
  • Experience driving large-scale transformation projects across multiple geographies, such as establishing new operations or expanding existing business units.
