Technology Engineering Lead

Detailed JD (Roles and Responsibilities)

• Act as the primary representative of the Technology Engineering in Oman;
• Bridge communication and operational gaps between local teams and the Brazil-based leadership;
• Manage and coordinate the execution of industrial automation projects, with a focus on:
• Stockyard machine automation: transitioning from locally operated to autonomous systems (anti-collision, remote operation, material tracking, stockyard inventory and autonomous)
• Concentration Plant adaptation: a new concentration plant from a partner will require some integration with Vale System such as Zero energy, CMA, PI, Labware, GPV Port/Pelletizing, GByPass, SIOP and SAP.
• Private 5G implementation
• Supporting additional automation and engineering initiatives as required
• Ensure project milestones, deliverables, and quality standards are met in accordance with global directives.
• Provide regular updates, risk assessments, and progress reports to engineering team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, automation, IT, and operations.
• Support the implementation of best practices in industrial automation and digital transformation.

Mandatory skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, or related fields.
• Proven experience in industrial automation projects, preferably in mining.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across geographies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English, Arabic (Portuguese is a plus).
• Experience working in multicultural environments and with remote teams.
• Availability for full-time on-site presence in Oman.
