Our Asset Renewal division is recognised for tackling technically challenging projects, ranging from $500k to $10 million. These include cladding replacements, podium refurbishments, structural steel and concrete repairs, and bespoke high-rise restorations with no limitsand often in live, occupied environments. Many of our projects require tailored solutions that push the boundaries of conventional construction, making each job a unique and rewarding challenge.
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in the retail sector, as we continue to expand our capabilities in this space. This is a chance to help shape and grow our presence in retail asset renewal, bringing your insights and expertise to a team that values innovation and strategic thinking.
This role offers involvement from project inception through completion. As Project Manager, you'll handle estimating, tendering, strategy, and on-site delivery, ensuring your ideas are realised and maintaining consistency and quality throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and managing detailed project schedules and budgets
- Supporting estimating and tendering activities, particularly for retail-focused projects
- Coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams across diverse environments, including retail spaces
- Managing contracts, variations, and claims
- Preparing monthly reports for senior management
- Ensuring compliance with safety, legal, and building regulations
- Overseeing quality control and resolving on-site issues
- Identifying and mitigating project risks, especially those unique to retail environments
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development, with a focus on expanding our retail portfolio
- Representing Alder professionally with clients and stakeholders, including retail partners
You'll be supported by a Contract Administrator and will bring:
- 5+ years' experience as a Building Project Manager
- Proven background in new build and/or remedial construction, ideally including retail industry experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and a quality-driven mindset
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies and regulations
- Collaborative approach and ability to lead teams effectively
- High digital proficiency and commercial acumen
- Commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget
