Senior Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to take full ownership of our backend systems. In this role, you’ll build, maintain, and scale the platform that powers the entire product — including APIs, databases, search functionality, and integrations.

You’ll ensure system performance, reliability, and security across a multi-tenant environment, while having significant influence on architectural decisions and backend best practices as an early technical team member.

What You’ll Do

• Own and evolve core backend systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Design, build, and maintain APIs using Python, supporting both frontend applications and third-party integrations.
• Develop and optimise PostgreSQL database structures to handle growing data volumes and complex relationships.
• Implement and manage search functionality to deliver fast, accurate results across the platform.
• Monitor and reduce system latency to ensure smooth performance for all tenants.
• Build and maintain secure, reliable multi-tenant infrastructure with strong data separation.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions, shaping the direction of the platform.
• Embed security best practices, data integrity, and compliance throughout the backend.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and leadership to deliver high-impact features end-to-end.
