As the NOC Engineer, you will manage, assure and govern the core networks and infrastructure of ENET Communications, recording, reporting and communicating events and changes in line with the agreed processes.
This role contains 12-hour shift patterns, inclusive of a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. The number of hours worked each week may vary depending on the shift schedule, but the average working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, calculated over a rolling 6-week period. The shift pattern comprises of 12 day shifts, and 7 night shifts within each 6-week cycle. This pattern includes one weekend of day shifts and one weekend of night shifts per 6-week cycle.
This role is an 8-month fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- An active member of the NOC team by supporting overall goals to achieve realistic outcomes.
- Operate the day-to-day activities of the Network Operation Centre on a 24-hour rotated attendance.
- Ensure your shift has completed the handover document at the end of each shift.
- Responsible for the efficient in life management of the ENET Communications Network including customer networks & meeting of SLA’s for ROI customers.
- Complete network monitoring ensuring all alarms are accounted for and fault tickets are open for outstanding alarms.
- Complete first level fault diagnostics on all faults and drive them to resolution within the agreed SLA, escalating tickets that fail or are about to fail SLA.
- Required to investigate incidents and manage them through to resolution, ensuring correct communications to our customers and the business as per the incident process.
- To work and develop skills on the daily NOC roles, Monitoring, Faults, Alarm Clearing, SPOC, and Service Assurance.
- Manage customer enquiries, complaints and requests in a responsive and professional manner.
- Liaise with both internal and external interfaces to ensure the network is delivering as per service level agreements.
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level recent graduates in Engineering, Computer Science or similar field.
- 1-2 years networking experience, ideally in a telecommunications environment but similar experience will also be considered.
- CCNA certification or similar industry recognised IP/Ethernet certification is preferable.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritise.
- Strong Problem-Solving skills
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
