About The Role
As an Onboarding Analyst, you’ll be at the front line of ensuring that our customers and counterparties meet Hercle’s standards for KYC (Know Your Customer) and KYB (Know Your Business). You’ll help us build trusted relationships from day one by making sure onboarding is smooth, compliant, and efficient.
You’ll work closely with Compliance, Operations, and Business teams to maintain an onboarding experience that supports growth while managing financial crime and operational risks. Your work will directly influence how we scale our onboarding processes and keep them streamlined as the business evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform KYC and KYB checks for new and existing clients, ensuring documents are accurate, complete, and aligned with regulatory and internal standards.
- Conduct customer and counterparty risk assessments during onboarding and periodic reviews.
- Ensure onboarding data and documentation are correctly gathered, verified, and stored in line with internal procedures.
- Support the development and optimization of onboarding workflows and tools to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Identify and escalate red flags or unusual findings to the AML/Compliance team.
- Work with Compliance and Legal to make sure onboarding processes remain aligned with evolving AML/CFT and KYC/KYB requirements.
- Help refine internal policies, checklists, and procedures to improve both regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Act as a point of contact for onboarding-related questions across the company.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements and system enhancements in the onboarding function.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Law, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of AML/CFT frameworks.
- Familiarity with KYC/KYB processes, customer due diligence (CDD), and regulatory expectations.
- Strong attention to detail and a structured, analytical mindset.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong command of English (written and spoken).
- Comfortable with productivity tools (Excel, Word) and quick at learning new onboarding platforms.
- Previous experience in onboarding, KYC/KYB, CDD, or EDD roles.
- Experience in payments, PSPs, or Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs).
- Familiarity with corporate structures, UBO identification, and risk scoring approaches.
- Exposure to blockchain or DLT-based business models.
- Experience working with onboarding tools or participating in system implementation projects.
