DevOps Engineer
We are representing a Norwegian medtech company that develop and deliver an advanced, cloud-based platform for neurosurgical imaging to some of the world's most prestigious hospitals and research institutions in the USA. With further plans of growing in Europe and globally.
Think of this as essentially being the post-processing software which actually provides the images that neurosurgeons see on the screen after the scans are done.
This platform has been developed in collaboration with leading institutions such as Stanford, Harvad and MD Anderson, so you can be certain that this is very serious product that really does improve the outcomes of difficult neurosurgeries (such as the removal of brain tumours).
Your role
In the role of DevOps Engineer, you will become a central part of their technical team and and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of their medical imaging platform. You will design, implement, and manage the cloud infrastructure (AWS) and CI/CD pipelines, enabling fast and secure deliveries to both cloud and on-premise customers.
This is to some extent a strategic role where you will work at the intersection of development and operations to build a robust and automated foundation for their global expansion as well.
Location:
This position will be based in Forskningsparken, Oslo, with a hybrid working scheme (3 days in office, 2 home) being offered. You will have a couple of colleagues initially in the office, but with the plans to grow as they acquire and onboard more customers which will require them to grow the internal team.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure and Cloud Architecture:
- Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to maintain our cloud infrastructure in AWS.
- Be responsible for the infrastructure of our three software solutions: nordicMEDiVA, nordicAktiva, and nordicComfortPlayer.
- Monitor system health, capacity, performance, and cost-efficiency to ensure optimal operation.
CI/CD and Automation:
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
- Establish and manage deployment strategies and version control in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines, ensuring traceable and reliable releases.
Security and Compliance:
- Assist in collecting evidence and hardening configurations to meet regulatory requirements such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR.
- Implement and manage best practices for secure system configuration.
Collaboration and Process Improvement:
- In close collaboration with the operations team, develop streamlined processes for maintaining customer environments, both in the cloud and on-premise.
- Act as a technical expert and support for development teams regarding infrastructure and deployment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud Engineering, or similar operational roles.
- Solid practical experience with major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), with a particular focus on networking, compute, storage, and IAM.
- In-depth knowledge of implementing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines in complex projects.
- Experience with CI/CD systems, preferably GitHub Actions.
- Solid understanding of Linux system administration, containers (e.g., Docker), and orchestration (e.g., ECS, Kubernetes).
- Experience configuring and using monitoring and logging platforms.
- Experience from a regulated industry, such as medical technology, healthcare, or SaaS, is meriting but NOT required
- Fluency in English
