SpeakUp is scaling rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Scientist who can turn complex data into actionable product decisions.
This is a critical role that will drive our growth, improve key conversion funnels, and strengthen our AI-matching engine.
You will analyse how users behave across the entire product journey — from install to registration, from event creation to speaker applications — and help us optimise SpeakUp for global scale.
What You’ll Work On1. User Behaviour Analytics– Cohort analysis
– Funnel breakdowns (install → sign-up → profile completion → engagement)
– Predictive modelling of high-value segments
2. Conversion Optimisation– Identifying friction points in UX
– Running and evaluating A/B tests
– Recommending improvements to boost CR and LTV
3. Product Analytics– Retention analysis (D1/D7/D30)
– Feature adoption insights
– Correlation analysis affecting matches & engagement
4. Growth Analytics– Growth models for Organisers, Speakers and Podcasters
– Providing insights for marketing acquisition and retention
– Prioritising growth hypotheses based on impact
5. User Segmentation– RFM segmentation
– Behaviour-based clustering
– Early churn prediction and retention actions
6. Data for AI & Recommendations– Evaluating the accuracy of AI-matching
– Building quality metrics for recommendations
– Linking behavioural data with ML performance
You may use your preferred stack, but experience with the following is a plus:
– Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy)
– SQL (PostgreSQL)
– BI tools (Metabase, Superset, Tableau)
– A/B testing frameworks
– Product analytics (Mixpanel, Amplitude or similar)
– ML fundamentals (bonus)
– 3+ years in Data Science or Product Analytics
– Experience in fast-growing startups or mobile apps
– Strong command of user journeys, retention, churn and activation
– Able to translate data into business outcomes
– Proactive: identifies problems before they become visible
– Comfortable with ambiguity and fast execution
