Role Summary

We're seeking a talented Mid-Level Frontend Engineer to join our team in building the next generation of Design Systems that seamlessly integrate with AI/agents. As a key member of our frontend engineering team, you'll work on rapidly designing and implementing user-friendly interfaces for various products and platforms, focusing on accessibility, scalability, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

Design System Development: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of Whitespace's Design System, incorporating AI-forward components.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, data scientists, and agent development teams to ensure seamless integration of Design System components across all products, platforms, and AI/agent-powered interfaces.

UI/UX Expertise: Develop UI components using React and NextJS/React (bonus to have server-side rendering expertise), focusing on performance optimization for improved user experience.

Accessibility: Implement accessibility features in Design System components, following WCAG 2.1 guidelines, ensuring all users can access our products and platforms.

Scalability and Maintainability: Architecture scalable solutions that can support multiple products, platforms, AI/agent interfaces, and client-specific requirements simultaneously while adhering to highest code quality standards.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Figma and Storybook integrations
  • Familiarity with NextJS/React advanced concepts (server-side rendering, state management)
  • Experience of Svelte
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility tools and techniques for AI-forward components

Required Skills & Knowledge

Frontend Development: Proficiency in React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Accessibility: Compliance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines

Scalability: Proven experience designing scalable systems

Agile Methodologies: Comfortable with Agile development process
