Job Description:


The Network Operations Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization’s network systems. This role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure to guarantee high availability and optimal performance. The engineer will collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors to resolve issues and implement network enhancements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor network performance using NMS tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG, Datadog) to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network outages, degradation, or latency issues.
  • Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
  • Manage and support LAN/WAN environments, MPLS, and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Perform regular network maintenance, upgrades, and patches to ensure security and compliance.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, incidents, and changes.
  • Support incident response and participate in root cause analysis for network failures.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement network security measures and monitor threats.
  • Assist in capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure scaling.
  • Provide on-call or after-hours support as part of a rotating schedule.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in network administration, network support, or operations.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN).
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or Palo Alto network devices.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy).
  • Understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancers, and VPN technologies.
  • Ability to analyze complex network problems and implement solutions quickly.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
