About the role:


In this role, you will ensure smooth payroll operations and accurate processing for all employees on the Austrian payroll. This position demands strong attention to detail, precision, and the ability to manage sensitive employee and financial data. You will also act as the key liaison with the external payroll provider, ensuring effective communication, timely resolution of issues, and alignment with regulatory changes and payroll best practices. This is an excellent opportunity for someone starting their career in payroll who is comfortable managing monthly reports and data processing.


Responsibilities:


Payroll Processing

  • Manage the end-to-end Austrian monthly payroll process, adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures, including payroll schedules and deadlines.
  • Collect, prepare, and transmit payroll data to the external payroll provider for monthly processing.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to process new hires, terminations, and contract changes.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and processing of monthly overtime, on-call duties, shifts, and absences.
  • Review and validate monthly overtime and vacation accrual reports for accuracy.


Data Management & Reporting

  • Respond promptly to payslip-related queries.
  • Conduct regular checks on payroll processes and data, recommending improvements as needed.
  • Identify and address payroll anomalies, initiating remedial actions where necessary.
  • Verify payroll report calculations and submit corrections as required.
  • Prepare and administer reports for financial analysis and compliance.


Employee Support & Compliance

  • Provide advice to managers on payroll and HR administrative matters.
  • Administer maternity leave payments and other Austrian social security benefits.
  • Issue employment confirmations and ensure the timely transmission of exit documents to departing employees (e.g., final payslips, de-registration confirmations).

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Payroll, or a related field (e.g., WIFI payroll certification).
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience processing payroll, preferably Austrian payroll.
  • Excellent proficiency in English (oral and written); additional language skills are an advantage.
