Head of Network Security (Arabic Speaker) - Up to 40,000 QAR
Purpose of the Role
The organisation is enhancing its resilience by strengthening how its networks are designed, secured, monitored, and governed. This position leads the full lifecycle of network protection - from architectural vision to operational execution - ensuring all connectivity layers remain hardened against modern cyber threats. You will act as the authority for secure network strategy and the guardian of all traffic, access, and perimeter controls.
What Success Looks Like in This Position
- Networks (on-prem, cloud, hybrid, edge, and remote access) consistently withstand internal and external threats.
- Architectural decisions are based on zero-trust principles, strong segmentation, and forward-looking technology adoption.
- Firewalls, proxies, load balancers, secure gateways, DDoS controls, and cloud connectors operate seamlessly and according to policy.
- Security governance is clear, measurable, and embedded across IT, applications, and infrastructure teams.
- Leadership, vendors, and technical stakeholders view network security as predictable, structured, and well-communicated.
A. Strategic Network Protection Leadership
You’ll define the organisation’s philosophy for secure connectivity — covering segmentation, access strategy, zero-trust adoption, cloud integration, and perimeter hardening. You will set the vision for where the network security posture must go over the next 3–5 years.
B. Network Defence Engineering
You will determine how detection, enforcement, and control mechanisms are built into the network stack. This includes ensuring the correct deployment, configuration, and validation of:
- firewalls,
- load balancers,
- secure web gateways,
- DDoS shielding,
- IPS/IDS systems,
- cloud connectivity layers,
- and next-generation access technologies.
C. Architecture Ownership
You will judge the design of core, distribution, access, and data-centre networks from a security perspective — ensuring that every new integration follows the organisation’s standards for resilience, transparent trust boundaries, and minimal attack surface.
D. Operational Oversight & Risk Stewardship
You will guide firewall governance, rule-quality assessments, change reviews, policy enforcement, and exposure reduction.
You will collaborate closely with SOC, cloud teams, and infrastructure groups to ensure all network events are monitored and responded to effectively.
E. Technology Portfolio Direction & Innovation
You will keep the organisation ahead by evaluating and recommending new approaches such as SASE, zero-trust access, micro-segmentation, encrypted traffic inspection, and advanced network analytics.
F. Governance, Compliance & Assurance
You will ensure that the organisation’s network posture aligns with regulatory, sectoral, and global standards, including NIST, ISO frameworks, and national cybersecurity guidelines.
You will play a central role in preparing technical evaluations, RFPs, budget proposals, and architecture assessments.
G. Leadership & Ecosystem Management
You’ll build and mentor a network security engineering team, ensure they operate confidently, and manage external technology partners and managed services providers.
You will also act as the voice of network security during audits, risk committees, and technical governance forums.
Experience
- 15+ years in network or network-security roles, with at least 5–7 years in a leadership capacity.
- Extensive experience with enterprise-scale secure connectivity environments.
- Arabic fluency is required.
Education
- Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Professional Certifications
- CISSP or equivalent senior security credential
- Palo Alto PCNSE / Fortinet NSE (any level demonstrating deep platform experience)
- Cloud security certifications such as CCSP, Azure, or Google-specific security credentials
Leadership Qualities & Mindset
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term architecture with daily operational demands.
- Skilled at navigating cross-functional environments with diplomacy and clarity.
- Strong communicator able to simplify complex network security concepts for all audiences.
- Decisive, analytical, and comfortable with high-impact decision-making.
