- POSITION TITLE : SENIOR PLANNING AND SCHEDULING ENGINEER

ROLE PURPOSE
This Senior Planning and Scheduling Engineer assumes the responsibilities within the MPC portfolio and reports to the Lead Planning Engineer and Projects Manager. He will be responsible for the preparation, managing, and controlling of the master and detailed schedule and all aspects of progress measurement, monitoring, verification, and reporting. Applying HSSEQ policies and regulations on project activities. Ensure that the Project Cost and Schedule targets are efficiently accomplished and that passable project control measures are in place. Review, align, and approve contractors planning packages and deliverables. Ensure accurate measurement and reporting of all key Project Controls measures, produce and maintain Project business plans and reports, including s-curves, histograms, etc.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and review full-scale capital expenditures/ operational expenditure project master and level I, II, III, IV, and V schedules aligned with the best international scheduling practices for plant and non-plant projects.
- Create and align Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) with Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
- Create and update value of work done (VOWD) dashboard for the assigned projects.
- Develop project planning and scheduling requirements, progress measurement, and reporting instructions for compliance by bidders in the tender documents.
- Participate in bid evaluations particularly in schedule analysis, labor and equipment assignment, and compliance with planning and reporting instructions.
- Provide oversight and review of the Contractor's projects planning packages including workforce histogram, ensuring progress measurement and reporting procedures are per company requirement.
- Carry out turnarounds planning and monitoring for shutdown jobs.
- Support the IAPS team to plan, implement, integrate and maintain a sustainable short- and long-term IAPS schedules.
- Support cost control team in preparation of project cost phasing and necessary alignment of project cost and schedule.
- Perform schedule analysis (trend, variance, time impact) and prepare analysis reports for the project team and stakeholders as required by the project manager.
- Conduct and coordinate reviews of contractors and vendors schedules, ensuring schedules are realistic, achievable, and prepared to good scheduling practices conforming to critical path methodology.
- Review contractors Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to assure compliance with the contractual scope of work to be used while preparing the total Project scope, Project coding, Project schedules, and cost reporting.
- Monitors through appropriate and periodic checks, contractor’s performance against approved work program, deliverables, drawing indices, and milestones by examination and analysis of their progress documents against progress reporting systems set out in the contract.
- Review and approve the contractor's periodical progress report and highlight areas of concern, recommended corrective actions, and any other relevant aspects of the project, which have an impact on cost and schedule. To verify that data reported by the contractor reflects actual project progress status.
- Ensure that adequate information is supplied to verify progress claims against milestones and invoices submitted including calling for further information to substantiate progress claims, where necessary prior to payment by the Owner.
- Evaluates the contractor’s change orders and claims for any engineering, equipment, material, and construction extras as well as schedule extensions, with recommended actions to approve, modify or reject.
- Prepare regular progress reports addressing cost and schedule trends, productivity, and corrective actions taken.
- Prepare regular executive summary project status reports for the project manager and QCM team.
- Review project control procedures developed by the contractors as a part of their activities to ensure adequacy to the required level of control required by the company.
- Strong understanding of cross-discipline work, interfaces, and sequencing for all phases of a project.
- Commercial awareness within the professional services environment.
- Sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Engineering degree with a minimum of 12 to 15 years’ experience in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and infrastructure projects, with exposure in planning, cost and risk management including project controls, cost and schedule development.
- Experience of working with owners or International Oil Companies will be an advantage.

- Well-versed with EPC projects planning, scheduling and monitoring.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer literacy skills (Primavera P6, MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Hands-on working experience in Primavera P6 Version 18 and above.
- Well-versed in Earned Value Management (EVM) in Primavera P6.
- Good knowledge of using Primavera Schedule Risk Analysis software for conducting Schedule Risk Analysis.
- Integrated Activity Planning (IAP).
- Projects Value of Work Done (VOWD)
- Experience in brownfield plant and non-plant projects planning i.e. civil building works, process trains.
- Previous work experience in the construction of new or rehabilitation of LNG
