UI/UX Designer - Digital Projects

We have partnered with a NSW government agency that is looking for a UI/UX Designer to join their team. They ideal candidate will have experience with service design, UX or UI design training from recognised provider. This is a 6 month contract role starting on the 12/01/2026. This role is paying $750-$892 per day.

About the role:

The UX Designer works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to research, design and assist in delivering exceptional customer and user experiences that achieve business outcomes and improve business efficiencies and processes.
The role is user centric and requires solid user-centred design values, principles and practices; strong business analytics skills; excellent communication and stakeholder engagement and management skills.

Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with the Digital Team to build, implement, release, support and maintain the digital product suite.

Apply technical skills in user experience and user interface design

Ability to use different methodologies and tools to solve different challenges.

Support viable and sustainable product solutions from design through discovery, framing and iterating development and continuous improvement within a Human-Centered Design (HCD) framework

Support usability, accessibility and user acceptance testing of digital services to ensure we provide users with a great experience

About you:

• Formal service design, UX or UI design training from recognised provider.
• Extensive experience in designing solutions for digital products or services.
• Experience with managing design systems in Figma, and strong UX knowledge across iOS, Android and desktop.
• Experience with typography and layout.
• Familiar with Digital NSW design standards.
• Relevant experience with information architecture, responsive web.
• Knowledge of frontend web technologies, understand how things will be built.
• Experience in presenting design solutions to business stakeholders.
• Use of project tools such as Jira, confluence and SharePoint.
