Lead Backend Developer (with AWS)

We are seeking an experienced Lead Backend Developer with a deep understanding of AWS to join our team.

As a Lead Backend Developer, you will design, build, and maintain robust backend systems supporting scalable, high-performance applications. Responsibilities

• Develop scalable backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot as primary technologies
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures using AWS Lambda and serverless frameworks
• Oversee cloud infrastructure configurations with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform for AWS environments
• Automate CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and operational processes with Docker, GitHub Actions, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk
• Build automated testing frameworks for backend systems using tools such as JUnit, Cucumber, and Selenium
• Monitor and enhance production systems for reliability and performance using Datadog, Splunk, or New Relic
• Manage the full lifecycle of backend services, from development to operations and incident management
• Coordinate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to ensure seamless, integrated solutions
• Conduct code reviews, create technical documentation, and provide input on critical technical decisions

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in backend development utilizing Java or similar programming languages
• Minimum 1 year of experience leading teams or managing technical projects
• Strong knowledge of Java (Spring Boot) and familiarity with additional backend technologies such as Node.js or Python
• Proficiency in writing and managing Terraform scripts for automating AWS cloud infrastructure
• Skills in using Docker and CI/CD tools to enable efficient cloud-native deployments
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Datadog, Splunk, or New Relic to maintain and assess system performance
• Expertise in building automated testing frameworks and backend scripting tools
• Understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and event-driven system designs
• Capability to manage backend services across their lifecycle, ensuring production stability and performance
• Competency in analytical and problem-solving tasks to debug and optimize backend systems
• Advanced English proficiency (B2 level or higher) with strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

• Background in additional programming languages like Ruby or Rust and experience with integrating legacy systems such as AS400
• Understanding of frontend technologies like React or TypeScript to support full-stack development tasks
• Knowledge of configuration management and build tools like Maven or Projen for workflow optimization
• Capability to create technical documentation and contribute to onboarding processes, helping to support knowledge sharing and team growth
