Today cybersecurity is a top priority for the telecom industry. Our customers experience an increasing amount of threats in different domains. This includes also the RAN and related domains with SMS Blasters, IMSI Catchers, Jammers, and so on. 

Ericsson is offering Cyber Defense Solutions (CDSs) to support our customers in their security challenges. The CDSs consists of Ericsson Security Manager (ESM) product providing security automation & orchestration, integrated with the security functions of the mobile network end-to-end. With the CDSs Ericsson is increasing the customer Zero Trust Architecture maturity. Ericsson Security Manager is also a key component for the programmable networks.

Job Description

As RAN Threat Detection Architect, you will in your part ensure that our solution delivers an industry-leading wireless airspace defense capabilities for mobile network operators and mission critical networks.

To be successful in this role you have… 

  • English proficiency (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of 3GPP Radio Access Networks from all generations
  • Understanding of 3GPP protocols and processes, especially in the RAN domain
  • Bachelor's, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Telecommunications, Radio Engineering or other RAN related filed
  • Previous experience in handling RAN related threats such as IMSI Catchers, SMS Blasters, Jammers
  • Knowledge of related telecom threats such as SIM Boxes and Farms
  • Understanding of new RAN technologies such as Integrated Sensing and Communication
  • Experience with RAN data collection and processing
  • Experience with big data processing, frameworks, performance optimizations and available solutions
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as MITRE FiGHT and their application in threat detection.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assess complex techincal security issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies and industry trends.

Approved security clearance is required for the position and will be carried out for the selected applicant. (Security Clearance Act 726/2014)
