At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a professional Environmental Data Analyst to join our UniQue Ispra team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our customers in the public sector and you will be responsible for developing new business by identifying profitable opportunities, maintaining your client portfolio by building strong, long-lasting relationships, and monitoring the progress of the projects, with the aim to provide excellent client service and added value services.
What will you be bringing to the team?
- Contribution to the production of updated greenhouse gas and air pollutant emission estimates at global level, incorporating latest available information on technologies and abatement measures for various sectors
- Contribution to the development of consumption-based estimates in EDGAR, incorporating data from GTAP, UN Comtrade and other relevant sector specific data sources
- Support the development of EDGAR emission scenarios
- Provide support for data analysis of EDGAR products
- Contribution to additional EDGAR activities, upon request, such as to the yearly EDGAR booklet.
What do you need to succeed in this position?
- Master Degree + 3 years of relevant professional experience
- Capacity to write clear and structured technical documentation
- Deep knowledge in provision of technical evaluations
- Experience in data analysis and modelling, in particular related to emissions estimation
- Experience in quality assessment provision
- Knowledge of statistical inference methods and high-end analytics (data mining and classification methods)
- Programming with Python and R, or other relevant programming tools
- Knowledge of Geographical Information System tools (e.g. ArcMap, QGIS, handling NetCDF files, etc.)
- Good working knowledge in English
- Advantage:
- Understanding of environmental and climate change related issues
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and other graphic design software
