Tech Lead – Mobile Engineering
Location: Hybrid in Barcelona (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction, architecture, and design of mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership by guiding engineers, reviewing code, and establishing best practices.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to translate business goals into scalable technical solutions.
- Drive execution of complex features, ensuring quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Facilitate and lead technical discussions, proactively identifying risks and proposing solutions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical growth and promoting a culture of engineering excellence.
- Champion engineering standards including testing, CI/CD practices, documentation, and observability.
- Contribute directly to development when needed—implementing features, resolving technical blockers, and improving codebases.
- Support long-term technical planning, helping shape the roadmap and influencing architectural decisions.
Must-have Skills
- 5+ years of experience in mobile engineering roles, with at least 2+ years acting as a Technical Lead or similar leadership position.
- Strong hands-on expertise in native mobile development:
- Android: Kotlin, Jetpack Compose
- iOS: Swift, SwiftUI
- Deep understanding of data structures, system design, design patterns, and mobile architectures (MVP, MVVM, declarative UI).
- Proven experience guiding teams through architectural decisions, code reviews, and complex technical implementations.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, client-side performance optimization, and mobile CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Git workflows, DevOps practices, and modern mobile delivery processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
Nice-to-have
- Exposure to backend or full-stack technologies, cloud services, GraphQL, Firebase, or related stacks.
- Experience in microarchitectures, modularization, or multi-platform codebases.
- Previous experience working with distributed teams across multiple locations.
- AI Tooling Proficiency: Ability to leverage AI tools for coding, testing, research, or architectural exploration; able to recommend AI-driven workflow optimizations.
- Familiarity with media, news, or highly dynamic mobile content applications.
