About The Project

The team is currently involved in a major migration effort:

  • V2: A legacy application built in pure PHP with CodeIgniter, currently in production.
  • V3: A modern, state-of-the-art application built with Laravel 12, following current industry best practices and cleaner architecture.

The long-term goal is to fully transition all active functionality from V2 to V3. However, some features in V2 still require maintenance and development until the migration is complete. Both V2 and V3 were originally developed by an external consultancy, and we now continue evolving the platform for multiple countries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain both backend and frontend features in V2 (legacy) and V3 (Laravel 12).
  • Understand and work with the legacy PHP/CodeIgniter codebase when required.
  • Contribute to modern, clean, well-structured code in the Laravel 12 platform.
  • Implement frontend features that meet accessibility standards, ensuring usability for visually impaired users.
  • A dedicated accessibility library is available for this purpose.
  • Collaborate with cross-country teams and support multiple markets.
  • Use Git, GitHub, Linux/Ubuntu, and containerization tools (Podman, WSL, git-lfs) as part of the daily workflow.

Must-have-Requirements

  • Strong experience with PHP (modern and legacy).
  • Solid understanding of Laravel (Laravel 12 is a plus).
  • Familiarity with CodeIgniter or willingness to work with older PHP codebases.
  • Experience in frontend development, including accessible UI implementation.
  • Comfortable working with Git, GitHub, Linux environments, and containerization tools (Podman/WSL).
  • Ability to navigate and understand complex, older code while contributing clean, modern solutions.

Nice-to-have-Requirements

  • Experience working on multi-country or enterprise-scale applications.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and tools.
