On-Premises Infrastructure Engineer

Malmo, Sweden (2-3 days a week on-site)

€55,000-€70,000 base salary

We're looking for an experienced On-Premises Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's growing infrastructure team. If you're a proactive, technically skilled professional who enjoys a challenge, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. You'll be responsible for designing, deploying, and securing our client's core on-premises IT infrastructure, playing a vital role in supporting their enterprise systems and ensuring business continuity.

What You'll Do:

• Manage Infrastructure: You'll deploy and manage on-premises hardware, including servers (Windows/Linux), storage (SAN/NAS), and networking devices. You'll also configure and maintain virtualization platforms, such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V, and administer core services, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
• Ensure Network & Security: You'll oversee LAN/WAN performance, manage firewall rules and VPNs, and apply patches and updates to keep systems secure. You'll also work closely with cybersecurity teams on audits and incident response.
• Handle Backups & Disaster Recovery: You'll configure and manage backup platforms (e.g., Veeam, Commvault) and regularly test disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
• Monitor & Automate: You'll monitor systems 24/7 using tools like PRTG or Zabbix and use scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible) to automate infrastructure processes.
• Collaborate: You'll provide third-line support and work with DevOps, Application, and Network teams on hybrid integration and connectivity projects.

What You'll Bring:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing and maintaining enterprise-grade infrastructure.
• A strong working knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), storage technologies, network protocols, and backup solutions.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to documentation and change control.
• Expertise in Ansible.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Bonus if you have:

• Industry certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP).
• Familiarity with monitoring and automation tools.
• Experience with hybrid infrastructure and working in multi-national or regulated environments.
