Backend Developer

Role: We are seeking a skilled Python Backend Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask, and a strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and data integration pipelines. You’ll work on building scalable backend systems, integrating with messaging and caching tools, and deploying services using containerization technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and develop microservices architecture.
• Work with ORMs like SQLAlchemy or Django ORM for database interactions.
• Develop and manage data pipelines and integrations using Kafka, Celery, and Redis.
• Implement caching strategies and optimize backend performance.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy/manage them on Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, and product.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring scalability and uptime.

Your work profile

• Strong proficiency in Python and backend development frameworks (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
• Experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with SQLAlchemy or Django ORM.
• Familiarity with Kafka, Celery, and Redis for data processing and messaging.
• Understanding of caching, performance tuning, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and agile development practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Desired qualifications

• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of API security and authentication (OAuth2, JWT).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Base location: Mumbai/Pune
