Are you an experienced R&D leader passionate about driving innovation in the medical device industry? This is an exciting opportunity to lead global product development projects that directly impact patients’ lives. The Manager, Research and Development will oversee multi - site teams and projects supporting a cutting-edge embolization portfolio within a world - leading vascular business.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross - functional R&D teams in the execution of product development projects aligned with the company’s vascular vision.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring delivery of high-quality, regulatory - compliant outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical experts to identify unmet needs and translate insights into innovative product concepts.
  • Drive continuous improvement in R&D processes, systems, and design excellence.
  • Oversee vendor selection and strategic partnerships for product development and manufacturing.
  • Manage and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Partner with global stakeholders to ensure alignment of R&D best practices and project progress.
  • Contribute to the development and protection of the IP portfolio within the embolization field.
  • Ensure full compliance with quality systems, safety standards, and company policies.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in medical device research and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong background in mechanical design, materials science, and engineering fundamentals.
  • Proven success managing global teams and complex product development programs.
  • In-depth understanding of ISO, FDA, and EU medical device regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in IP strategy and portfolio development.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and technical writing skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
