Software Engineer - Low Latency

About The Opportunity

We are a rapidly growing engineering organisation making digital assets accessible to our customers. To meet the demands of our growing customer base and an increasing number of assets offered, we are expanding our core backend teams to drive innovation with a focus on designing and implementing cutting-edge low-latency services with an aim for enabling seamless customer experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborate with your Engineering Manager, Staff Engineer and the team to craft highly performant, low latency and high throughput services
• Dive into technical challenges, building solutions to guarantee peak performance across our systems with focus on measurements and benchmarking
• Actively participate in pivotal decisions on technology stacks and architecture
• Participate in operational rotations to resolve incidents in our production environment
  
  

What We Look For

• 2+ years of development experience.
• Understanding low-level JVM & OS concepts with a strong grasp of the language, preferably Kotlin
• Understanding programming design patterns and principles
• Nice to Haves:
• Seeking a tech startup/scale-up environment
• Knowledge about network protocol - TCP, UDP
• Familiarity with libraries such as Aeron and/or Chronicle queue
• Experience with event-driven microservices using Kafka
• Experience with the Kubernetes ecosystem and cloud platforms — we work on AWS
