Network Engineer

Position: Network Engineer

Location: Lisbon

Hybrid: 2/2.5 times a week at the client’s office

Candidates must possess a valid work permit for Portugal

Mandatory Languages Required: English (minimum C1)

We’re looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team and support the design, optimization, and maintenance of complex network environments. This role sits between Level 2 and Level 3 support, ensuring reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across our network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for network incidents, troubleshooting, and escalations
• Contribute to the design and architecture of network solutions
• Manage and optimize network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)
• Work with load balancers in production environments
• Ensure network performance, security, and high availability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and improvements

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering
• Solid understanding of core network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)
• Experience with network design
• Experience with load balancers
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Fluent English (spoken and written)
• Availability to work onsite in Lisbon 2–2.5 days per week

Nice to Have

• Experience with AZQ environments
• Exposure to Level 3 topics or escalations
