Omda Response is a business unit within Omda, consisting of about 35 people who develop mission-critical software for ambulance services, emergency departments, and clinical decision support. Our solutions help doctors, nurses, and paramedics make fast, well-informed decisions that ultimately save lives.

About The Role

As the Chief Technology Officer in Omda Response you will be overseeing everything within Engineering, QA and Architecture. Leading cross-functional teams, driving technology strategy and vision in alignment with company mission and strategies.

Working closely with the Business Unit Leader and Product teams to deliver on roadmaps and maximize market reach. Scale technical teams and be both their mentor and coach to develop them to be their best. Always ensure best and most efficient practices in a regulatory agile environment.

Responsibility areas

• Support product roadmap and deliveries
• Process owner for the Engineering organization
• Ensure compliance with set processes and ways of working
• Evaluate performance and goal fulfilment for the organization
• Advise, suggest and implement necessary changes
• Coach the teams in improving the work methodology
• Participate in strategic quality assurance work
• Personnel responsibility for Engineering organization
• Vacation and absence planning
• Midterm reviews
• Salary reviews
• Frequent 1:1 meetings with all employees
• Coaching team leaders and other people managers
• Responsibility for coding standards and working methods being developed and followed
• Organizational planning
• Responsibility for roles and job descriptions, together with the Business Unit Leader
• Staffing/competence analysis and planning, together with the Business Unit Leader
• Responsible for recruitment in the Engineering organization
• Responsible for tooling, IT systems and their access used in the Engineering organization
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and training and participate in kick-offs
  
  

Requirements

• 10+ years Software Development experience
• 4+ years Software Development Management experience
• A degree in computer science or IT/Software Development/Engineering related field or equivalent
• A proven track record of producing high-quality software, on time
• Experience leading teams to ensure successful delivery
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and departments in the organization
• Ability to listen, influence and lead teams and their leaders
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse teams within the organization
• Experience in coaching, mentoring and developing technical individuals throughout their career
• Experience from working within an Agile environment using the Scrum Framework
• Fluent in English and in Swedish, both written and spoken
• Experience working with software solutions for healthcare is a plus
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 & MDR is a plus
• Experience from PRINCE2 project management is a plus
• Experience working with navigational systems is a plus
