Are you ready to build something from the ground up while still having the stability, backing, and reputation of a well-established Nordic organisation?

We opened our first office in Norway last year with a small but skilled software development team, and now seek to continue our growth with the start of a new data department. We are looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Head of Data to lead the way!

About Us:

We are a trusted partner across the Nordics, recognised for delivering high-quality digital solutions and exceptional customer value. As we enter the Norwegian market, we’re investing heavily in data as a strategic growth engine. This is a unique opportunity to shape the data agenda from day one!

The Role:

As our Head of Data, you will be both a hands-on practitioner and a strategic leader. You’ll shape the vision, architecture, and roadmap for our data capabilities in Norway while also rolling up your sleeves to design, build, and deliver real solutions.

You will:

  • Establish and lead the data function in Norway, including processes, frameworks, and future team structure.
  • Act as the technical expert, working directly on projects from data modelling to integration and analytics.
  • Build scalable data pipelines and platforms using the Microsoft data ecosystem (Azure, SQL, Synapse, Fabric, Power BI, etc.).
  • Partner closely with business units to identify opportunities where data can unlock value.
  • Drive best practices around data quality, governance, and architecture.
  • Help cultivate a data-driven culture as the organisation grows.

What We’re Looking For?

You should bring a mix of strategic thinking, technical depth, and entrepreneurial spirit, specifically:

  • Solid experience in data engineering, ideally across multiple business domains.
  • Proven hands-on expertise with the Microsoft stack (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Synapse/Fabric, Power BI).
  • Experience building or scaling data capabilities from the ground up.
  • A practical and collaborative mindset, comfortable leading but also doing.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Why Join Us?

  • Be the architect of our entire data function in Norway.
  • Work with a supportive, well-established Nordic organisation with big ambitions.
  • Freedom to shape tools, processes, and your future team.
  • Competitive compensation including a fixed base salary and a 10-15% bonus
  • Excellent career growth opportunities to establish a team & environment from scratch.
  • A culture that values innovation, trust, and work-life balance.

If you're ready to take on a role where you can both lead and build, and want to be part of an exciting Nordic expansion, I’d love to hear from you!
