As our wireless technologies are constantly evolving and winning multiple awards, with funding for the next phase secured, and commercial traction demonstrated, we are now looking to on-board a talented Software Developer for 4G/5G Networks.

Key Responsibilities

- You will be an Engineer for the wireless Non-Terrestrial Networks Group working on Core Network aspects of 3GPP 4G/5G Protocol Stack for Non-Terrestrial Networks and will be contributing towards the R&D and development activities of OQ Technology’s wireless & SATCOM group. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams from the space group and other branches of OQ Technology and external partners. Below is a summary of the typical tasks required for this post:

- Explore, Research, Develop and implement new functions/ algorithms/system Architectures related to 3GPP based 4G/5G communication core network functions over Non-terrestrial Networks in alignment with and as per the need of the organization’s business strategies

- Actively participate and contribute to the Design and implementation of (hands-on) features on the Core Network Aspects of the full telecommunication software stack including but not limited to the MME, SPGW, HSS, SMSF, CBCF.

- Development of new Core Network features based on standard requirements. You will take lead on the analysis of 3GPP, GSMA, ITU standard documentation and on the extraction and implementation of functional requirements for the Core Network.

- Development of RESTful interfaces for the Core Network according to the best practices and standard requirements of an SBA architecture.

- Develop system performance models and drive cross functional system engineering tasks related to the system performance optimization.

- Assume a leading role in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers with a wide range of skill sets including but not limited to: software development, firmware development, hardware development, data analysis.

- Lead technical discussions with external suppliers and contracting companies.

- Participate and contribute to standard bodies including but not limited to 3GPP, GSMA, ITU, etc. as a part of the standardization activities of the Organization’s Technology.

- Actively participate and take lead in the contributary efforts in writing Technical Proposals of the Organization’s efforts in proposal and bid submissions for various EU based and international Calls and competitions including but not limited to ESA ARTES programs, Horizon 2020, etc.

Key Qualifications

- M.Sc. in Electronics/Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

- 5+ years of experience multi-disciplinary experience in wireless R&D, hardware-software co-development focused on the MME, SPGW and HSS, algorithm and protocol development for 3GPP based modem technologies, MME,SPGW modeling, simulations, and design, e.g. Core Network procedures, link level systems modeling etc.

- Proven Experience with RESTful interface development and SBA architectures.

- Experience with orchestration technologies for core network NFV (use of K8, EKS and Open MANO).

- Proven technical leadership and management qualities for extensive R&D in the industry.

- Relevant technical publications in the forms of patents and/or technical journals with international publication bodies are welcome.

- Ability to adapt to change in an entrepreneurial environment.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

- Proficiency in spoken and written English.

- IMPORTANT: Already a resident in Europe or has European visa
