Position Summary

We're looking for a highly motivated AI Engineer to help drive intelligent features and automation within our FireLight platform. You’ll be a key contributor in designing and deploying machine learning models and AI-driven capabilities that enhance user experience, streamline workflows, and unlock new product value. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you’ll work at the intersection of data, engineering, and product innovation.

Deliverables and Performance Measures:

• Develop and build customer facing .NET applications supporting Insurance industry clients throughout the Life/Annuities sales/application cycle. Build services in Python and .NET, support our efforts to re-platform monolithic apps into modern services stacks.
• Build, train, and deploy machine learning models in Azure Foundry, OpenAI/ChatGPT and other AI platforms, including RAG development, vectorization, indexing, prompt-engineering and workflow management to support product features such as intelligent recommendations, workflow automation, predictive insights, and natural language processing.
• Monitor and evolve models, design closed-loop feedback mechanisms and improve the performance of AI applications over time.
• Follow Agile development practices, TDD, produce high quality, readable, maintainable, well-factored, scalable code in GIT
• Research and experiment new technologies and frameworks to provide recommendations on usage to the broader team
• Collaborate with product managers, backend engineers, and UX designers to define and deliver AI-powered functionality that integrates seamlessly into our SaaS offering.

What will make you successful:

• 5+ years developing .NET, C#, Python and REST applications on both OLTP/SQL platforms and NoSQL and other data storage platforms in a cloud environment (Azure highly preferred)
