Primary Roles
The role supports the full spectrum of talent development, talent management, and training administration. This includes coordinating and implementing company-wide learning programmes, development pathways, and staff engagement initiatives. It also involves managing day-to-day training operations, maintaining records, handling funding applications, coordinating with vendors, and performing system updates.
The position works closely with engineering, technical teams, and HR to strengthen workforce capability. Additionally, it supports digitalisation efforts through system enhancements, data analysis, and the adoption of AI-enabled tools, while contributing to a positive workplace culture through effective employee engagement and communication activities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct and consolidate Training Needs Analysis (TNA) across departments.
- Prepare, update, and execute the annual company training plan in alignment with business goals.
- Coordinate in-house and external training programmes, including scheduling, enrolment, logistics, attendance, and communications.
- Maintain training records, completion status, certificates, and evaluation forms in LMS/HR systems.
- Liaise with engineering and technical departments to align development programmes with capability needs.
- Support competency frameworks, career pathways, and development roadmap initiatives.
- Assist in talent identification and tracking development progress for high-potential employees.
- Source and evaluate external training providers; obtain quotations and manage course arrangements.
- Administer SDF/SRP funding applications, sponsorship/scholarship schemes, and related documentation.
- Process training invoices, quotations, claims, reconciliation, and coordinate with Finance for timely payment.
- Prepare training dashboards, reports, and KPIs for management reporting.
- Track training effectiveness, post-course evaluations, and feedback.
- Conduct staff orientation and induction programmes for new joiners.
- Coordinate internships, industrial attachments, and partnerships with educational institutions.
- Manage training passes and arrangements for subsidiary staff or customers attending training.
- Support digitalisation initiatives for HR/training, including LMS enhancements, workflow automation, and use of AI tools.
- Review and improve training processes and workflows for efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure all training documentation, governance, and audit requirements are properly maintained.
- Support and execute employee engagement activities, campaigns, and events to strengthen company culture and staff experience.
- Assist in planning and delivering engagement surveys, staff events, communication initiatives, and recognition programmes.
- Perform other HR and talent development duties as assigned.
Requirements and Essential Attributes
- Degree in Engineering, Human Resource Management, Business, or a related field (Engineering background preferred due to closer alignment with technical capability development).
- Experience in training coordination, talent development, or HR operations is an advantage.
- Proficiency in digital systems, Learning Management Systems (LMS), HRIS platforms, and strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in data analysis, workflow automation, or AI-enabled tools will be an added advantage.
- Strong interest and commitment to talent development, capability building, and continuous learning.
- Meticulous, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and stakeholders concurrently.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both engineering and non-engineering teams.
- Proactive, resourceful, and independent, with strong follow-through and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable with systems, digitalisation, and adopting new technologies to enhance HR processes.
- Positive attitude, strong teamwork, and a passion for building a strong employee experience and engagement culture.
