The Role

The Information Security Entry Analyst plays a key role in protecting Xylem's data and systems from cyber threats. In this entry-level role, you will monitor security tools, analyze potential threats, and support the development and implementation of security controls. Working under senior team guidance, you will learn core cybersecurity practices and contribute to strengthening Xylem's overall security posture.

Core Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Threat Analysis

  • Monitor security systems, alerts, and logs to identify potential threats.
  • Assist with forensic analysis and incident response activities.
  • Support SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) configuration and monitoring.

Systems & Network Security

  • Configure and maintain security devices such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
  • Support implementation and oversight of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls.
  • Perform routine security assessments and audits.

Application & Access Security

  • Conduct web application security testing and basic code reviews.
  • Assist with identity and access management processes.

Documentation & Compliance Support

  • Maintain and update security documentation, procedures, and audit materials.
  • Support external auditor requests and vendor assessments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Participate in incident response and crisis management planning.

Security Awareness & Communication

  • Communicate security findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Support employee awareness on security best practices.
  • Build relationships with security vendors and industry peers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field - or equivalent practical experience.
  • Basic understanding of information security principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of common cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
