Job Title: Network Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £40,000 + excellent benefits package

Location: Central London

Working Arrangement: 3 days on-site per week


The Role

As a Network Engineer, you will play a key hands-on role in the day-to-day operation and evolution of a mission-critical enterprise network. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of customer tickets, triaging, troubleshooting and resolving issues while delivering clear and timely communication
  • Meeting and exceeding customer SLAs through effective incident and problem management
  • Supporting senior engineers with the planning and implementation of project work and network changes
  • Monitoring network performance, identifying issues and proactively suggesting configuration improvements
  • Performing software/firmware upgrades and executing changes via formal change control (CRQs)
  • Contributing to vulnerability management and security best practice
  • Developing scripts and automation to streamline repetitive tasks
  • Maintaining accurate asset records and support documentation


What We’re Looking For

  • Solid experience as a Network Engineer (2–5 years) ideally within a managed service provider or large enterprise environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of multi-vendor platforms including Cisco (CCNA level or working towards CCNP), Fortinet, Juniper or similar
  • Strong foundational understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, network topology and the interaction between physical, virtual and cloud layers
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and a logical, methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Some exposure to scripting/automation (Python, Ansible or similar) is highly advantageous
  • Good working knowledge of IT security concepts and change control processes
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine customer-service mindset
  • Relevant certifications (Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE 4/5, JNCIA etc.) or a clear commitment to achieving them
