Overview

Location: Full remote.

Timezone: Italian Timezone Availability.

Job Purpose

As an Android Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining high-quality native Android applications. Working closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, you will contribute to every stage of the development lifecycle — from technical design and implementation to experimentation, testing, analysis, and launch.

This role requires strong technical proficiency in Kotlin, modern Android frameworks, and architectural patterns. You will be expected to contribute to engineering standards, provide feedback on product and UX decisions, and help foster a culture of shared ownership, continuous learning, and collective responsibility across the team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define, design, and deliver new Android features.
  • Participate in the full development lifecycle, including technical design, implementation, testing, experimentation, deployment, and analysis.
  • Review code and design documents, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to improving engineering standards and best practices.
  • Provide input on product requirements, UX decisions, and data tracking specifications.
  • Stay current with modern Android tools, frameworks, and methodologies, applying new knowledge to improve product quality and developer workflows.
  • Embrace shared ownership of the team’s mission and outcomes, contributing to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in native Android development using Kotlin.
  • Experience with asynchronous programming using Coroutines.
  • Strong working knowledge of REST APIs and web services using OkHttp and Retrofit.
  • Advanced experience with Dependency Injection, particularly Dagger.
  • Familiarity with architectural patterns such as MVI and MVP.
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose or willingness to deepen expertise in Compose.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and mobile test automation practices.
  • Foundation-level experience with Java (<3% of codebase).
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with strong autonomy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an ownership mindset over the whole development lifecycle.
  • Advanced English skills (written and spoken), capable of collaborating in distributed teams.

    • Experience with performance profiling, analytics integration, or mobile experimentation frameworks.
