Responsibilities And Role
As a senior back-end developer, you will take charge of designing, developing, and integrating software applications that are crucial to the operational framework of our client. Your tasks include:
- Back-end development: Building and maintaining robust, scalable web applications using modern technologies.
- Technical implementation: Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices. This involves working with RESTful APIs, messaging systems, and both on-premise and hybrid cloud services.
- Collaboration: Partnering with product managers, designers, and QA engineers to deliver user-friendly software, including working with external vendors for integration.
- Co-creation: Actively participating in workshops to collaborate on integrations, APIs, and real-time data pipelines.
- Code review: Engaging in peer-code assessments to provide constructive feedback and ensure high code quality.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, or computer science, along with at least 7 years of relevant professional experience in back-end software development. Key qualifications include:
- Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, and Typescript, with experience in frameworks such as Laravel being a plus.
- Strong familiarity with version control systems (Git, GitLab) and database management, particularly with PGSQL and relational/non-relational databases.
- Solid understanding of Linux-based environments, security best practices, and experience in API development.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles, continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines, and containerized application development.
- Professional working proficiency in Dutch and English, with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
