About the Job


SilverBack is recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Project Controls Manager to support a major large-scale industrial development in Sweden. This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring robust control over cost, schedule, risk, and document management across all phases of the project.

The successful candidate will lead and develop a multi-disciplinary project controls team, coordinating activities with engineering partners, construction contractors, process equipment suppliers, and internal stakeholders. This role requires a combination of strong strategic leadership and hands-on operational capability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, mentor, and lead a high-performing Project Controls team across site and office functions.
  • Provide strategic guidance in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of project controls processes.
  • Prepare high-quality project updates and performance reports for executive management, the Board of Directors, and investors.
  • Ensure project controls processes meet all cost, schedule, contractual, and operational requirements.
  • Promote continuous improvement and quality excellence within project delivery teams.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize project controls systems, standards, tools, and reporting frameworks.
  • Deliver accurate and timely project controls outputs, including reporting, analysis, and system implementation.


What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive prior experience working on large-scale capital industrial projects.
  • Strong background on both owner and contractor sides; an owner’s mindset is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex construction activities in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, building, and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to be hands-on when required.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, organizational leadership, and communication skills.
  • EU citizenship is required.
