We are seeking a skilled software developer to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products, working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.

Your Role And Responsibilities

As a software developer you will play a vital role in a wide range of activities including new feature development, problem troubleshooting, development/maintenance/support of our software components and development environment. You'll be part of a team working on leading edge technology solving some of the world's most complex problems and supporting the entire watsonx BI organization. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and you’ll be working closely with fellow developers, designers, and product managers to ensure our software aligns seamlessly with user expectations.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-10 years of experience in Object Oriented software development using Java
• Knowledge of Microservices Architecture
• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Strong modelling and BI domain knowledge
• Knowledge of JSON, XML, and API documentation
• Proficient in working with RDBMS
  
  

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Understanding of message brokers such as RabbitMQ for event-driven architecture.
• Experience with JUnit and integration testing for back-end services.
• Familiarity with source control Git and CI/CD tools like Jenkins
• Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms and familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana for application performance.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to solve complex technical problems in backend services.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical ideas and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in agile development teams, collaborating with front-end developers, product managers, and designers.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering projects on time in a fast-paced environment.
