About The Role

We are looking for a Mobile Product Designer to lead design across Finix’s mobile products—including our iOS and Android apps, as well as Android-based payment terminal experiences. You will be responsible for translating complex payment workflows into simple, elegant mobile interactions that feel intuitive, fast, and deeply reliable.

While you’ll work closely with the Finix Dashboard team to bring core features to mobile, this role demands strong mobile-native thinking: understanding platform conventions, designing for small-screen constraints, and crafting mobile-first interaction patterns that scale across devices and environments—including ruggedized checkout terminals.

You’ll join a small but mighty team of award-winning designers, with significant ownership over the vision, UX, and craft of the Finix mobile ecosystem.

You are:

  • Someone who thrives in fast-paced, lean startup environments and can design and iterate quickly
  • Energized by solving complex, technical problems in the world of payments
  • Comfortable threading the needle between speed and craft, and knowing when each is appropriate
  • A natural collaborator who seeks feedback, incorporates new perspectives, and advocates for user needs
  • Fluent in working closely with mobile engineers, understanding platform limitations, and unblocking development through tight communication
  • Passionate about building a consistent cross-platform experience that aligns with our design system while respecting iOS and Android’s native paradigms

You have

  • 4+ years of product design experience, with at least 2 years focused on mobile (iOS and/or Android)
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating mobile-native interaction design, micro-interactions, gesture patterns, navigation models, and platform-specific UI
  • Experience designing for mobile constraints—offline states, variable network reliability, biometrics, permissions, accessibility, small-screen ergonomics
  • Ability to craft detailed mobile design specs, component behaviors, and handoff documentation that mobile engineers can confidently implement
  • Experience working with and contributing to a mobile design system (cross-platform preferred)
  • Familiarity with iOS Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design, and platform-specific accessibility standards
  • Strong visual design skills and high attention to detail

Nice to have

  • Experience designing mobile products in payments, fintech, or commerce
  • Experience shipping apps on both the App Store and Google Play Store
  • Experience designing for Android terminals / POS devices (Verifone, PAX, Sunmi, etc.)
  • Experience building or maintaining mobile-specific design system components
