HR Project Manager – M&A Focus | 3-Month Contract | Hybrid | North Sydney

Contract: 3 Months (with potential 3-month extension)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – a couple of days WFH

About the Role

Chandler Macleod is partnering with a leading global technology organisation to recruit an experienced HR Project Manager for a high-impact contract role. This position plays a pivotal role in driving HR initiatives, with a strong focus on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), compliance, and strategic integration.

Reporting to both the Head of Operations and Head of HR, you’ll lead complex HR projects and ensure alignment with Australian employment law and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• M&A HR Leadership: Lead HR due diligence, integration planning, and execution for M&A activities in Australia, ensuring smooth transitions and cultural alignment.
• Employment Law Expertise: Act as the go-to advisor on Australian employment legislation (Fair Work Act, Awards, WHS), ensuring compliance across all HR projects.
• Project Management: Manage end-to-end HR projects, including scope, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder engagement.
• Risk & Compliance: Identify legal and operational risks, and develop compliant, effective solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• M&A Experience: Proven success in leading HR workstreams for M&A transactions.
• Legal Expertise: Deep knowledge of Australian employment law and industrial relations.
• Project Leadership: Strong HR project management skills, ideally with PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
• Strategic Influence: Ability to advise and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Law, or related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong focus on M&A and employment law.
