We're Cumbaya, the AI-powered Digital Travel Agent of the future, and we're looking for a full-time Software Engineer to join our Start-up team of experts in Leuven.

You'll work directly with our two technical co-founders to build the world-class interfaces of our product, mastering a cutting-edge stack focused on React Native (Mobile), React (Web), and TypeScript. Cumbaya is the AI-powered Digital Travel Agent of the future. We are a travel platform that generates personalized, feasible itineraries in seconds, for free. We integrate flights, accommodation, activities, and more into a single, user-friendly plan, solving complex travel logistics to make travel accessible and meaningful. We are a Start-up located in Leuven founded by 3 co-founders and working together with 3 freelancers in marketing & design.

Join our technical team of the 2 tech co-founders to build and scale the user-facing applications of Cumbaya. This high-impact role combines mobile engineering (React Native) and web development (React) to deliver a unified, beautiful, and performant user experience. You will be instrumental in turning complex AI-generated data into intuitive travel plans.

• Design, build, and scale our cross-platform Mobile Application using React Native and TypeScript.
• Develop and enhance features for our core Web Application using React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate closely with our design and AI teams to translate complex travel logic into simple, seamless UI/UX flows.
• Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and clean code across both mobile and web platforms.
• (Optional) Contribute to our API interactions and backend integration points.

Required:

• Strong, demonstrable experience with React and React Native.
• Proficiency in TypeScript.
• Solid grasp of modern HTML5, CSS3/Styled Components, and responsive design principles.
• Demonstrable passion for software, UI/UX, & travel.
• Ambitious, entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, problem-solving attitude.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library).
• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand, Context API).
• Experience with Tailwind, Vite and gRPC.
