About the Role and Project
We are looking for a highly skilled Secure Data and Document Exchange Expert (SDDE) to support a major digital transformation initiative within a large international public-sector environment. The project focuses on enabling secure, reliable, and interoperable exchange of electronic data and documents across diverse organisations and systems. You will contribute to the maintenance, enhancement, and evolution of core specifications, profiles, and components that ensure seamless and trusted information exchange at scale.
Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do)
The role involves providing technical expertise and ensuring quality across the eDelivery platform by:
• Providing technical expertise in relevant areas.
• Performing quality assurance of technical specifications related to transport and messaging protocols.
• Ensuring the maintenance, development, and expansion of the eDelivery automated testing platform.
• Designing new test cases or updating existing ones to cover the evolution of software products.
• Assisting the team in testing and conducting periodic vulnerability and security risk assessments of the messaging and data transfer system.
• Liaising with all relevant internal and external stakeholders and participating in technical working groups.
• Assisting with technical documentation, analysis, deployment, evaluation, and reporting.
Essential Technical Knowledge & Experience
Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge in the following areas:
Security & Cryptography:
• Knowledge of digital signature and encryption with X.509 certificates and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
• Knowledge of techniques used to secure Web applications, including TLS (including mutual TLS), WS-Security, Web Services (SOAP and REST), OAuth2, OpenID, and OWASP.
Messaging & Protocols:
• Knowledge of open standards for data and document exchange: ebMS3, AS4, SBDH, XHE.
• Knowledge of open standards for service discovery: Business Document Metadata Service Location (BDXL) and Service Metadata Publishing (SMP).
• Knowledge of Business-to-Business (B2B) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and common data/document exchange patterns.
Tools & Development:
• Experience with scripting and programming in Java.
• Experience working with containerisation tools, specifically Docker.
• Experience using continuous integration techniques and tools (e.g., Bamboo, Git).
• Experience using testing tools: SoapUI, Postman, Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience working with SQL and database servers
