The Role
We are seeking a Senior UX Designer to lead user-centered design activities across complex digital products for a European global insurer who offers reliable coverage for individuals and businesses, with strong risk management expertise and broad international reach.
In this role, you will shape experiences end-to-end from discovery research to high-fidelity design, working collaboratively with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
You will bring strong problem-solving skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to translate customer insights into intuitive, accessible, and scalable design solutions.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead user research and discovery activities, including interviews, workshops, usability testing, and data synthesis to uncover actionable insights.
- Define insight-driven problem statements and design directions, ensuring solutions align with usability heuristics, accessibility standards (WCAG), and user needs.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to shape requirements and influence product strategy.
- Stay informed on modern design systems, industry best practices, and emerging UX/UI trends, and apply this awareness to elevate the product experience.
- Produce key UX artifacts such as personas, service blueprints, user journeys, task flows, and opportunity maps to communicate user needs and experience strategy.
- Create low to high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs, ensuring concepts are validated, iterated, and grounded in evidence.
- Deliver UI designs that adhere to or extend the product’s design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and engineering-ready specifications.
- Partner with engineering during development, providing detailed specifications, accessibility guidance, design QA, and support to ensure high-quality implementation.
- Present design work, research insights, and recommendations to stakeholders with clarity, confidence, and storytelling that influence decisions.
- Identify user and business-led opportunities for product improvement and growth, informed by research, analytics, and customer feedback.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with add on qualifications or training in UX Design, Interactive Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or related disciplines.
- Extensive hands-on UX/Product Design experience, ideally working across end-to-end product lifecycles.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user research, problem framing, interaction design, and high-fidelity UI work.
- Advanced proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma), prototyping tools, and design system methodologies.
- Deep understanding of usability heuristics, interaction patterns, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2+).
- Strong understanding of user research, wire framing, personas, and other HCI methods.
- Capacity to translate complex requirements into clear, intuitive, and scalable design solutions.
- Experience working within agile or product-led environments.
- Able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members, and management and clients along a wide spectrum of technical abilities.
- Ability to work in a challenging environment handling the management of issues in a calm, professional and controlled manner, and to prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines.
Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
- Experience in contributing to or maintaining a design system.
- Familiarity with service design methods such as blueprinting and ecosystem mapping.
- Exposure to analytics tools or data-driven optimisation.
- Experience in regulated or enterprise domains (e.g., healthcare, insurance, finance) is a bonus.
