Senior Software Migration Engineer

Reducate is integrating multiple e-learning companies into one unified SaaS platform. Every acquisition brings its own product, database, workflows and quirks. Your job is to understand these systems in depth, translate their logic into our platform, and build migration processes that are safe, repeatable and traceable.

This is not a cloud/infra migration role.

This is software system migration.

You will analyse full products, map domain concepts, build migration scripts, run dry-runs, validate data integrity and execute cutovers together with the architect and PM. Each migration becomes smoother because of the tooling and playbooks you design.

What you’ll do:

• Analyse acquired systems: data models, API behaviour, business logic
• Map concepts from source systems into Reducate’s data and domain model
• Build migration scripts (SQL, PHP, Bash; Python/Node optional)
• Create tooling for validation, diffing, mapping and repeatability
• Run dry-runs and rehearsals; prepare safe rollback paths
• Execute production cutovers with architect + PM
• Document assumptions, mappings, risks and validation steps
• Contribute to the migration playbook for future acquisitions

What you bring:

• 8–10+ years software engineering experience
• At least 2 years hands-on system migration experience
• Strong SQL + PHP + Bash skills
• Able to reverse-engineer systems and understand behaviour
• Experience with heterogeneous legacy + modern stack environments
• Excellent communication and documentation habits
• Fluent English (C1) or Dutch

Nice-to-have:

• Python or Node.js
• Experience with ETL, data pipelines or validation tooling
• Experience with Laravel or React/Node environments
