Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Manager, People & Office Operations to play a pivotal role in supporting both our People & Culture and Office Operations functions. This role will balance human resources responsibilities such as recruitment, compliance, employee engagement – with office management duties to ensure our workplace runs efficiently and supports a positive employee experience.
Key Responsbilities
People & Culture
- Employee support and relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, helping to resolve HR-related questions and concerns with professionalism and discretion.
- Recruitment: Manage the recruitment process - draft job postings, coordinate interviews, screen and interview candidates, communicate offers, and coordinate background checks, and references.
- Onboarding: Support managers and manage the onboarding process including onboarding scheduling, documentation, and first day logistics.
- Offboarding: Support smooth transitions during employee offboarding. Manage last day details, including coordinating final payments with payroll, exit interviews and compiling feedback.
- HR Operations / Systems: Maintain HRIS and data accuracy, employee records, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and CFL policies. Ability to analyze HR metrics and identify opportunities for the business. Provide monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Performance & Development: Support with the performance review cycle, goal-setting initiatives and learning and development programming.
- Culture & Engagement: Assist with and manage the planning and execution of employee engagement activities, internal communications, and recognition programs to foster a positive workplace culture. Contribute to the planning and execution of town halls, staff events, meetings and team-building activities (both in person and virtual)
- Policy Compliance: Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, work closely with in-house counsel to ensure compliance with legislation and CFL policies.
- Health & Safety: Contribute to and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and workplace standards. Support with policies, trainings, claims and investigations.
- Benefits: Liaise with our benefits providers, assist employees with benefits-related inquiries, and support open enrollment processes.
- Other duties as assigned. Collaborate with the Director, People & Culture to implement impactful solutions.
- Manage a Coordinator, Office Operations and oversee the day-to-day office administration.
- Act as a main point of contact for office vendors, service provides and building management
- Oversee budget tracking for office expenses, ensuring cost efficiency
- Maintain the office and improve workplace processes, systems, and resources to enhance productivity.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in an HR generalist, office management, or a blended people & operations role.
- CHRP designation or in progress is an asset
- Experience in the sports and entertainment industry, an asset
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset
- High level of discretion with sensitive information
- Proficiency in HRIS and ATS platforms and Microsoft Office
- A team player with a flexible, proactive attitude with a passion for people.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Hybrid Model: The incumbent will be required to attend the office in accordance to the CFL Hybrid Work Policy. In addition, you are required to attend meetings and other business events at the office or other venues as business needs dictate.
- Work Schedule: Due to the nature of the business, the incumbent must be available and willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as required
