The Cybersecurity Intern will work with Fortitude Re’s Information Security team to strengthen the company’s protection of sensitive data, enhance employee awareness, and improve operational efficiency through metrics, automation, and communication initiatives.This internship provides hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, data protection technologies, and security awareness programs—offering a real-world look at how a modern enterprise builds and maintains a resilient security posture.
The internship will be based in our Nashville, TN office and will run from June 1, 2026, through August 7, 2026. You must be available for all 10 weeks of the program. What You Will Do:• Assist in developing, maintaining, and presenting cybersecurity metrics and KPIs that measure program maturity and risk reduction.• Collaborate with our AVP of Identity and Access Management to map out how access works across the company—documenting roles, systems, and applications—to help strengthen our IAM program and improve the employee experience.• Contribute to security awareness, education, and training campaigns—including communications, creative content, and interactive initiatives.• Help design and produce videos, infographics, and marketing materials that promote secure behavior and increase engagement across the company.• Support efforts to streamline and document cybersecurity processes, reducing manual work and improving operational consistency.• Collaborate with team members on special projects focused on automation, analytics, or continuous improvement in security operations. What You Will Have:• Currently a rising senior pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.• Strong interest in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, and awareness programs.• Basic understanding of security frameworks such as NIST CSF or ISO 27001.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Creative mindset with an eye for visual storytelling, marketing, or video content.• Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills. What You’ll Gain: • Hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, awareness, and analytics within a global financial services company.• Exposure to real-world challenges in data protection, process automation, and risk communication.• Opportunities to collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Communications, and Risk teams.• Mentorship and professional development from experienced cybersecurity leaders.
