The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization’s computer systems and networks from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as implementing security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities


  • Monitor and Analyze Security Systems: Continuously review logs, alerts, and network traffic for suspicious activity.
  • Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security breaches, malware infections, and other cyber incidents.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses.
  • Security Tools Management: Configure and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and maintain detailed incident reports.
  • Security Awareness: Assist in training employees on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Policy Development: Help create and enforce security policies and procedures.


Required Skills and Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of networking, operating systems, and security protocols.
  • Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), firewalls, and antivirus solutions.
  • Familiarity with frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP).
  • Experience in cloud security (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation.
