We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer II to drive and deliver new features in our Outlook Extensibility team. This team is responsible for developing add-in APIs for both Desktop and Mobile platforms, enhancing the functionality and user experience of Outlook. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, experience in working with cross-functional teams, and a passion for driving innovation in the engineering space.

Responsibilities
- Development of add-in APIs for Outlook on Desktop and Mobile platforms.
- Be the feature driver of a high performing system, work with talented group of engineers and foster a diverse, inclusive, and result driven team culture.
- Drives and supports partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements within teams.
- Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and motivates other engineers across products, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
- Seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of software design and development experience.
- Experience in managing highly complex, large scale software engineering projects.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with geographically distributed partner teams.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- JavaScript is the preferred language.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
